The Covenant School is a mission of Covenant Presbyterian Church, created to assist Christian parents and the Church by providing an exceptional academic experience founded upon and informed by the Word of God. Founded in 2001, we are an independent, coeducational school for 3-year-old children in PreSchool through 6th grade. We are intentionally small, and we place a high priority on loving and educating the individual student. Traditions, play-based learning, and the magic and wonders of childhood are celebrated at Covenant.
Admission is selective and holistic. Applicants and their families are evaluated for “fit” in a variety of ways, including mission alignment, academic readiness, commitment to faith, and cultural impact. We are committed to educating and discipling children of families where at least one parent is a professing Christian. We are passionate about shepherding hearts, empowering minds, and celebrating childhood. Covenant is a special place for your child.

Meet Our Faculty
Individuals of talent, achievement, and passion comprise The Covenant School faculty, a group intensely committed to educating young people. Covenant teachers take pride in providing individualized support for every student.
Ask any student what they love the most about The Covenant School, and they will tell you the teachers – even before they say recess! Covenant faculty members are dedicated to the growth and success of each student. It's why our students often come back to visit. Our educators truly get to know and love each student while nurturing lifelong learning habits, fostering long-lasting relationships, and pointing students to the enduring love of Christ.
Mary Elizabeth Ferriss
1st grade
Being a teacher is what I have wanted to do since I was little. I consider it my calling to help guide and equip students not just academically but also spiritually. I love getting to be a part of those "light bulb" moments when students first grasp a new concept and you can see their confidence and excitement shine from within.

As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to help children grow into balanced, responsible and curious life-long learners. The long range goal is to graduate citizens that know it is their responsibility to go into the world and leave a mark; a mark that shows they made a positive difference in someone’s life.

I love teaching because I love to see kids make connections and discover things on their own. I think most kids are born with some “big box of curiosity” and the best thing we can do as teachers is help them hold onto that and foster it for as long as possible. Students will forever surprise you, and that is what makes it so special.

At Covenant, we have the privilege of educating, discipling, and loving students through the "bookends of childhood." We get to specialize in early childhood development, from PreSchool through 6th Grade, and it is a beautiful journey to see children grow and develop in these special years of life.
